It's about time we had another Championships!

Results

Before we get into the results, we had a great time over the weekend and want to thank those that helped.

People were more than happy to help, volunteering their spare time to man checkpoints and fetch teeny wee kids bikes etc, whatever had to be done, there was people happy to help.  Thanks again folks.

Everyone I talk to has come away with good memories and are glad it has happened.  The turn out was small, but it meant we got to know and have a laugh with everyone.  Rollapaluza, you are all legends and looking forward to meeting up with you again soon.  The help you gave was really decent of you and everyone was loving the roller racing.

Although small, we have learnt a lot from it and will happily do it all again next year.  We will colate all the information, find suitable dates and locations and get back to you- with plenty notice.  Bigger and better - with more hot food, Gerti! ;).  The weekend consisted of 11 events.

Rollapaluza
The lads from London are now offering the entertainment for the Saturday night.  Rollapaluza have been going for 10 years, born from couriers in the big smoke.  Looking forward to having Caspar and the rest up here for the first time since the Nocturne series last year.  They have also kindly donated a prize of £50 for the first male and first female racer for the weekend aswell as a load of other prizes.  Party on down at Henry's Cellar Bar on Morrison Street, qualifying starting at 9pm.

Size matters

Gear inch for Edinburgh?  70" is the going rate.  Rabbit

Get some!
Getting a lot of interest about the champs now, which is good.  SkinGrowsBack from Australia got in touch offering to send some prizes, cheers guys!  Check out their handmade courier gear here.  Cool wee courier run company making some good durable gear.
Scheming up some more ideas.  If one of them happens on the Friday night, you will not forget it in a hurry.  If not, Jim's alley cat will be leaving you with flashbacks anyway.

14 Bike are number 1!
Just off the phone to John from 14, sound bloke!  He is sending up some tubing for the winner...  Columbus Keirin Spirit tubing.  Bona fide Japanese track tubing used for NJS bikes in the Keirin.  We cant thank you more guys!

Other Sponsors
Always Riding have recently started selling a line of urban wear.  They will be selling a new line of clothing called Muxu, which launches here in the UK the same week as the Champs.  Pete will kindly be sending up some prizes for the lucky ones that can win.

Knog are sending their cool wee lights up for the event aswell.

Swrve have also replied saying they would be happy to send up some prizes.  Check out their jeans, noice!

Thanks guys, you have all been absolute troopers!

Finally, we would also like to thank the sound folk at Melville St. Hobs, Edinburgh, for helping with the printing for the event.  They are a great bunch in there and if you want to get in contact with them call : (Edinburgh) 226  3060.
Mark and the gang will make all your paper based dreams come alive.
Hobs are nationwide.

Track craic
3hrs of track time have been booked for the Friday, 7pm-10pm.  This is included in your registration fee.
There are rules:
SPDs, or clip and straps if you have shoes with shoe cleets, only!  No trainers without a foot retaining action in em.
You must use drop bars and no brakes are allowed.  You will have to wear a helmet if you want on the track.
There are changing rooms available and a viewing area.  You can only use your own bike on the track, there are no bikes available for hire, but you surely want to use your own anyway.
Rules aside, we have been thinking up some cool races to do and should be a lot of fun.  This is a legendary track that will not be around for much longer so this will be most peoples only chance to mash the boards of Hoy's old stomping ground.
On yer bike!

Roll around
Great Northern Rollers from Manchester are a great bunch starting out with a new roller racing setup.  We wish them all the best for the future and hope we can work together on coming events.  All best Nes and the gang!!!

Tarmack Sabbath

Some of us went out to Cramond on Saturday to check out a route for fun on the Sunday.  It was a stunning day, the young whipper snappers got ice cream and we scouted it out.

The roads down in Cramond are immense!  All are smooth and good for riding.
We sorted out a sweet route through the quiet roads and looking forward to taking you all out there.
